OTMI trained communications officers and commanders from police divisions on how to work with the media during times of crisis to help diminish fear, provide information and enlist public support to catch perpetrators.

The training included analysing an anti-terrorism media campaign and writing press releases, as well as practical experience facing the cameras at press conferences and face-to-face interviews.
