Who it is for?: NGO staff who want to improve or gain new professional video filming skills

- Some filming and editing experience is desirable but not a must if you are a technically minded person
- Strong computer skills
- To have access to a video-camera and bring it to the training everyday. If you do not have a camera we can hire a Sony PD-170 filming kit for the duration of the workshop - see Investment below.
- To have access to a lap top computer powerful enough for video editing (see notes below) and bring it to the training everyday.  We can hire you with an edit kit  for the workshop - see Investment below.

Lead Trainer: Gunawan (former Head of News Production Facilities at Liputan6/SCTV and Head of the Camera Department, former PJTV/UI trainer)

This five day intensive hands-on practical course is aimed at improving your skills to provide video documentation. The training combines theory sessions with practical sessions so having your own filming and computer is essential throughout the training. Some topics covered include: the filming kit, shot sizes and camera moves, how to film and edit sequences and interviews, how to achieve continuity in a sequence, how to produce video for You Tube and many others. Each day will end with a feedback session, when all the work will be screened and analyzed by the lead trainer. Practical solutions will be given for any problems encountered. Our trainers are top Indonesian TV professionals with decades of experience in filming, editing and training.

Rp. 2.5 million/trainee* with your own equipment: filming and editing

Rp. 7.5 million/trainee* with all equipment provided by OnTrackMedia Indonesia

Minimum System Requirements for the video editing workstation:
N.B. If you edit you probably already have your own system capable of handling your video.
Below are recommendations for the type of computer that can run editing software.

Trial versions of video editing software will be provided.  

CPU Any Intel Core 2 or Core iX CPU. Intel or AMD single core CPU with a 3 GHz processor speed or faster (multiple CPUs and/or multi-core CPUs are recommended). SSE2 and SSE3 instruction set supported.
Memory 1 GB RAM (4 GB or more recommended)
Hard Disk
• at least 200 GB of free hard disk space
Graphics Card
A graphics card supporting higher resolution than 1024x768 (32-bit), Direct3D 9.0c or later, and PixelShader Model 3.0 or later is required
• For SD editing: 256 MB or larger required, 512 MB or larger recommended
• For HD editing: 512 MB or larger required, 1 GB or larger recommended
Sound Card
A sound card with WDM driver support is required.
DVD-R/RW, or DVD+R/RW drive is required
FireWire (IEEE1394) is required if your camera records on cassette (HD or HDV)
Operating System
Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit)
